Died of disease/captivity conditions.

The 11th Infantry Regiment was organized at Camp Mangum, near Raleigh, North Carolina, in March, 1862. The nucleus of this unit was made up of men who saw prior service in the 1st (Bethel) North Carolina Regiment. Its members were from the counties of Mecklenburg, Burke, Bertie, Chowan, Orange, Lincoln, and Buncombe.
