She was born in Illinois, in the city of Pana, and grew up in West Palm Beach.
Ailene is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Abernethy; one brother, Ted Wills, and one grandson, James Mathews.
Survivors include one daughter, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Her life celebration was held Saturday, May 18, 2002. Dr. Robert Mulkey and Rev. Steve Brown officiated.
