nyshistoricnewspapers.org SULLIVAN COUNTY RECORD January 21 1943 page 1: "Mrs Anna (Annie) Abplanalp, 82, former resident of Jeffersonville, found dead in her chair at her home at 15 Barclay Street, Port Jervis at 3:0-0 Saturday afternoon January 16 by her neighbor. She lived alone.
Body was shipped to Brand Funeral Home in Jeffersonville and burial in the family plot at the Methodist Cemetery.
Born December 16 1862 on a farm above Youngsville daughter of Andrew Thoeni and Verina VonBergen, natives of Switzerland.
On April 24 1880 she married Andrew Abplanalp of Swiss Hill, Jeffersonville where she lived until a yer after her husband died in 1919 during the flu epidemic.
Two children born to them - John died 1906 age 24 and Libbie in 1916 age 35.
Leaves a sister Mrs Elizabeth Schlagel 85 of Youngsville and nieces and nephews.
Other members of the Thoeni family were Mrs Margaret Sutliff of Addison and Mrs Catherine Matthues of Youngsville who also lived to be a ripe old age."
