Alfred McCoy Achard of Hot Springs, died on Feb. 23, 2006. He was born on Aug. 23, 1924, in Pine Bluff, raised in Hensley, and lived in Wichita, Kan., Miami, Fla., and Little Rock, Ark., before returning to Hot Springs. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. Al was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mary Achard; one brother, Robert Vito Achard; and two sisters, Nancy Case McKnight and Sarah Clayton. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margie Dianne Achard of Hot Springs; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Fred and Carolyn Robinson, and Bob and Brenda Robinson, all of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Bonnie Crocheron of Little Rock, and Brenda Ennaco and her husband Steven Adams of Mobile, Ala.; one step daughter, Debora Anne Zompakos and her husband Michael of North Little Rock; three nephews, Gary Case of Redfield,
Raymond Clayton and Jim Achard, both of Little Rock; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Graveside service was at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock with Michael Zompakos officiating. Full military honors were provided by the Thaddeus H. Caraway, VFW Post No. 2278 Honor Guard and the United States Army.
