Andy Achilles, age 65, lost his battle to brain cancer in Vancouver, Washington on December 14, 2012.
He was born on Deccember 19, 1946 in New York City, New York to Christopher and Cynthia Achilles. Andy attended St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox School and graduated from Long Island High in 1964, both in New York, and later moved to Anchorage, Alaska.
Andy served in the Air Force from 1966-1971.
He loved planning vacations, camping, and coaching softball.
Andy is survived by his sister, Despina Achilles; children, Chris Achilles, Stacy Destito, A.J. Achilles, Maegen Zitt; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Kai, Jacob and Ayla.
A memorial service was held on January 25, 2013, at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Boulevard, Portland, Oregon 97086.
