Obituary

Anthony Ralph Achilles, 62, of Quincy Route 2, a retired patternmaker, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 1, 1985) in his home. He had been in ill health several months.

Mr. Achilles was born in Quincy Jan. 17, 1923, a son of Ralph W. and Annamarie Moore Achilles. He married Donna Arnold Kreinberg. She survives.

Mr. Achilles had been employed as a patternmaker by Sass Brothers Pattern Shop for 16 years. He had attended Quincy High School and served two years in the Navy Seabees in the South Pacific. Mr. Achilles was a past commander and member of Amvets Post 76 at Ursa and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5129 in Quincy.

Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Annamarie Achilles of Quincy; a son, Anthony D. of Quincy; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Patty) Friday and Mrs. James (Mary) Prewitt, both of Quincy; two stepsons, Kent W. and George Kreinberg, both of Quincy; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Kreinberg of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, George W. Achilles of rural Loraine; two sisters, Mrs. George (Mary) Shade of Quincy and Mrs. Merle (Betty) Nichols of rural Quincy; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a stepson, Robert Kreinberg.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Sunset Cemetery in Quincy by the Rev. William Warford.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Curry Funeral Home at Mendon is handling arrangements.
