ACKERSON, ROBERT LOUIS "BOB," 74, of Louisville died Friday, November 7, 2008. Mr. Ackerson was a well-known and highly respected attorney. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1958 and was recognized in 2008 by the Kentucky Bar Association as a Senior Counsel with 50 years of service. He was a member of Delta Theta Phi and Beta Theta Pi. He was a member of the Louisville, Kentucky and American Bar Associations and served as Chairman of the Taxation Committee in 1996 for the Louisville Bar Association. He was formerly a member of the Board of Directors for the Family Place. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and served on the Vestry Committee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis E. Ackerson and Sara M. Romans. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sue Ellen Broadus Ackerson, who was by his side as he passed away; his seven children, Mike Ackerson, Lucy Ackerson, Nancy Postlewait, Sara Wolford (Moe), Jim Ackerson (Lori), Catherine Bendl (Kurt) and Deborah Burchett (James); 13 grandchildren, Matt, Mitch, Connor, Sam, Claire, Drew, Mason, Nicholas, Annie, Henry, Hillary, Nora and Jane; a brother, Jon Ackerson, and a sister, Mary Beth Ackerson. His service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with private burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane.
