David was a resident of Keithville, LA, and retired from AT&T as a Cable Technician. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. David served this country with honor in the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby D. Acklen, father, William "Bill" Acklen and stepmother, Anne Acklen. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Snead Acklen of Keithville; son, Bradley Acklen and wife, Jennifer of Shreveport, LA and son, Brian Acklen of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Katilyn Bailey and Cody Acklen; brother, Charles Acklen and wife, Nita, of Shreveport, LA; stepbrother, Butch Davis and wife, Marilyn, of Olla, LA.
Pallbearers were Barney Jeffcoats, Dewayne Harper, Art Gaskin, Jason Hughes, Jeff Byrd and Christopher Snead. Honorary pallbearers were John Maxey and Jim Brannon.
David was such a good man, a very loving family man and a very proud grandfather. He was a very loving and caring person all around. Every thought of David before his illness puts a smile on our faces and he seemed to always have a smile on his face, as well. He will be so missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
