KENNETH EUGENE ACKLEN, 77, of Memphis, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 30, 2008. Ken was employed by International Harvester for 28.8 years and a member of the UAWU Local 988 until his death. He loved stockcar racing and was an avid NASCAR fan. Ken was a member of Schoolfield Baptist Church, where he attended as long as his health permitted. He is survived by daughter, Belinda Lawson (James); son, Donnie Acklen (Therese); grandson, Kristopher Acklen; brother, Thomas W. Acklen (Lois), all of Memphis; niece, Theresa Phillips (John) of Jonesboro, AR; nephew, Wayne Acklen (Lisa) of Franklin, TN; two great-nieces, and two great-nephews. Visitation will be held October 4, 2008, at the Roller Family Funeral Home, 3651 Austin Peay, at 10 a.m., with the funeral following at noon and interment in Forrest Hill Cemetery-Midtown.
