David A. Acklin, 69, of Champaign passed away at 7:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at his home.
He was born Oct. 4, 1943 in Champaign, a son of Elton V. and Marie K. Gross Acklin. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Alexander Acklin; an infant sister, Nancy Jean Acklin and a brother, James T. Acklin, Lt. Col., USAF.
He is survived by a daughter, Nanette Acklin; a brother, Richard J. (Chrissie) Acklin; two sisters, Rosemary Gibbs and Judy Thrower; a sister-in-law, Rose Acklin; six nieces and five nephews.
He served in the U.S. Army.
