Albert Ackroyd, 72, died in the night at his home, 37 Emery Street, Sanford, following a two months' illness Mr. Ackroyd was born in Queensbury, Yorkshire, England and came to Sanford from Jamestown, N.Y., about 30 years ago and was employed as wool sorter for Goodall-Sanford Inc. until he became ill in January.

Mr. Acroyd was a member of Pioneer Lodge, Sons of St. George, and was affilliated with the Sanford Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Herman Ackroyd; a daughter Mrs. Lillian Boyd; and three grandchildren, all of Sanford; three brothers, Fred of Los Angeles, Asa of Toronto and Edgar of Halifax, England; a sister Mrs. Ray Hasekll, Carver City, Calif.

Funeral services with the Rev. John Quigg officiating will be held Tuesday at 2 P.m. at the Hurd funeral home, 10 Winter Street, Sanford, and interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Albert married wife Miranda about 1902. He appears on the ships manifest for the Cedric 5 Sep 1908, age 32 married "a wool sorter" saying his nearest relative was his mother "Mrs. Ackroyd of Queensbury, Bradford (Yorkshire)
