Dorothy Ann "Dot" Bradshaw-Swafford, 81, Tulsa Oklahoma passed away September 29, 2009. Dorothy was born November 22, 1927 in San Benito, Texas to Lena Francis Young and Charlie Adair. She graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas. Following high school Dorothy began a 7 year working career with Shell Oil Company in Houston. Settling in Tulsa in 1967 she would accept employment with Thurston Insurance Company and again with Shell Oil at their Credit Card Center operations retiring after 33 years. Following retirement she worked as a volunteer at the St. Francis hospital in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed travel in the U.S. and Europe. Dorothy loved sewing cooking, crocheting and she was a master seamstress. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Gus Voigt Jr. of Houston and Bill Bradshaw of Tulsa, her parents, sister and brother in law Virginia and Bob Hornberger, nephew David Hornberger all of Lockhart, Texas, brother in law James Naugle of Houston, Texas and her long time friend of 42 years Ruby Kelsey. Survived by daughter Charlene Cather of Tulsa and her companion Charlie Cather Jr.; daughter and son in law Jan and Ken Wilmott of Tulsa; grandchildren Kenianne and Michael Wilmott of Broken Arrow; brother and sister in law Jim and Miller Adair of Houston; sister Betty Naugle of Tomball, Texas and 3 generations of nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. A special thank you to who sent cards, stopped by the house to look in on her and those who offered prayers during this difficult time. Dorothy would ask that we celebrate her life and that in the midst of our sorrow that we be aware of others who are less fortunate than us at this time. Visitation 6-8 P.M., Friday, October 2, 2009 at Moore's Southlawn. Service will be 9:30 A.M., Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.
