James Robert Adair of San Benito, Texas was born May 9, 1931 and passed away Friday morning, October 17, 2014 at the age of 83 after a long battle with Alzheimers. He was the son of Charlie and Lena Adair. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred Adair; son, Bob Adair and wife Sarai; daughter, Sherry Johansen; grandchildren, Sam Russell and wife Asha, Ashley Ford and husband Kyle, Mitch Adair and sister Kayse; great-grandchildren, Audrey, 6, Ripley, 2, Beckett, 18 mos, Alden, 6 mos, Elliott, 11 wks and step grandchildren; Romi, 12 and Holden, 9. Jim retired in 1981 from Houston Lighting & Power after a long successful career. However his life's mission, with his wife Millie alongside him, was in Christian Ministries. He dedicated his life to this mission and to helping others. He was a man of action and compassion. Jim was beloved by many and will be missed by us all. Funeral service to be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 2003 W 43rd St. Houston, Texas 77018. Internment to follow at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
