Date on headstone is 1893 according to the newspaper he died in 1898. I believe there was a mistake on the headstone.

Mr. Adair was the son of James Farris and Martha "Turner" Adair. He was married to Martha Frances McKenney. Marriage records gives her name as Mrs. Francis Randolph. They were married 18, April, 1886. Both of the 1870 age 41 and 1880 census age 51 shows him as being single.

He had been in failing health during all this time, and suffered from frequent attacks of a chronic ailment which rendered him bedfast for several days at a time.

The funeral service was conducted from the residence Saturday. Reverend Crews of Mendon officiated, and the body was laid away in the Keith cemetery.
