Mrs. Bertha Adair, Daughter of H. D. Hill, Succumbs to Pneumonia in Colorado Home.
Lima, Sept. 16.—A telegram received Friday morning brought the sad intelligence of the death of Mrs. Bertha Adair at Monte Vista, Colo. Mrs. Adair, who was the daughter of H. D. Hill of this city, died Thursday night, after a week's illness of pneumonia.
Mrs. Adair was born near Lima, June 2, 1884; and was thirty-two years of age. She leaves her husband and three children, her father, four brothers, and one sister. The sister, Miss Mary Hill, a Red Cross nurse and a former member of the Staff of Blessing hospital, left Sunday for Monte Vista, and was with her sister when she died.
Mrs. Adair spent most of last winter In Lima, and at Christmas time all of the family were together at the home. Early in the summer the mother died, and the death of the dearly loved daughter casts a still darker shadow over tho already bereaved home. Mrs. Adair was a member of tho M. E. church and was a fine singer. She had music pupils in Monte Vista and was employed in one of tho church choirs there. She was a splendid young woman and during tho five years she has been away from Lima has retained a warm place in the hearts of her old friends here.
The remains left Monte Vista Friday and ore expected to arrive in Lima Monday morning. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon conducted by the Rev. G. T. Maple.
