Arlene R. Adams, 77, of Manchester NH, died on Aug. 3, 2014, at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Manchester on September 8, 1936, she was the daughter of Richard and Eunice (Mullen) Riley. She was a longtime resident of the Queen City and graduated from Saint Joseph High School for Girls, Class of 1954.

Arlene was a personal line underwriter with AIG New Hampshire Insurance Company. Later, she worked at Cullity Insurance Company for many years.

She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Most recently, she was a member of Saint Pius X Church.

Arlene was an avid knitter who served as a volunteer with the prayer shawl knitting group at the Elliot Hospital and Saint Pius X Church. A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her family was the center of her life. She will be remembered for her warm smile and selfless ways.

She was married 13 years to Joseph C. Adams, Sr. He died November 10, 1973. She was also predeceased by her daughter Lisa Aube, who died in 1994.

Family members include her son Joseph C. Adams, Jr., of Manchester; grandsons Eric, Kyle, and Mark; sisters Joan Myers and Mary Riley, both of Manchester; brother John Riley of Wellesley MA; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on August 6, 2014, in Saint Pius X Church on Candia Road in Manchester. Burial was place in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Bedford NH.
