She was 66 years of age and had been ill only a few days. She was a Christian woman and was held in the affection of many. Her death has caused widespread sorrow wherever she was known. Before her marriage she was Miss Elizabeth Clara Bisher of Charleston. After her marriage she, with her husband, came to Columbia. Captain Adams died several years ago. Surviving are one son, Arthur U. Adams of Columbia and three daughters, Mrs. Estelle Irby and Mrs. Mamie Higbe, both of Columbia, and Mrs. Louise K. Fulenwider of Rocky Mount, N. C. One sister of Charleston also survives. Funeral services will be held at the residence, 2022 Marion street this morning at 11 o'clock and will be conducted by the Rev. W. B. Garrett, pastor of Main Street Methodist church, who will be assisted by the Rev. Wade H. Boggs, pastor of Arsenal Hill Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
