Carolyn Adams, affectionately known as Dee Dee or “Dorothy Mae” departed this earthly life on Friday December 5, 2014.

Born in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late David Daniel Levy Doughty and Geneva Brown Doughty.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church were she sang on the choir, and was a leader in the church Sunday and Bible Schools. She was a member Williams Grand Chapter order of Eastern Star – Stars of Bethlehem Chapter 8 Heroines of Jericho and served a Matron Lady Knights of Templar Ancient Arabic Order Daughter of Sphinx.

Carolyn was a very loving person who enjoyed traveling extensively.

Surviving are two sons: Derrick (Louise) Doughty, Cayce, SC and Raynard (Hedeliza) Doughty, Waterbury, CT: seven Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren; four sister Beverly (Johnny) Morant, Abigail Doughty, Valerie (Roy) Iyawe, Vera (Lyles) Williams, and two brothers: Charles (Noreen) Doughty and Gregory (Wilhelmenia) Doughty, surrogate mother Dorothy Edmunds, special cousin Juanita Goodwin.

Services: Friendship Baptist Church on House Street

Burial: Ft. Jackson National Cemetery.
