Mrs. Adams was born in Czechoslovakia on Sept. 17, 1919, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Fiedler) Benche, and had been a Torrington resident for the past 65 years. Anna was a retired machine operator with Turner and Seymour Co., and enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Henry L. Adams of Torrington; four grandchildren, Lorin J. Theriault of Marlborough, Monet E. Meter and her husband, Jonathan, of Burlington, Philip J. Theriault his wife, Simona, of Fayetteville, Ga., and Gisele A. Theriault and her spouse, Megahann, of Watertown; a great-grandson, Briggs J. Theriault; a son-in-law, Marshall H. Theriault; a nephew, Lloyd Cleal and his wife, Judy; and a niece, Susan Blatchley and her husband, Craig, all of Torrington. Mrs. Adams was predeceased by a son, Ernest J. Adams, and a daughter, Edith A. Theriault.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 121 Dibble St., Torrington. Burial took place in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
