OAKVILLE — Barbara M. Adams, age 90, of Ball Farm Road, died Tuesday evening at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury.

Barbara was born May 18, 1920 in Oakville, the daughter of the late Albert and Jessie M. (Mackin) Adams and lived in Oakville most of her life. She was educated in Watertown schools.

Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed as a purchasing agent at Scovill Manufacturing Co. where she worked for 42 years. Barbara loved animals and she will be sorely missed and remembered for her remarkable wit and good humor. She was a member of Union Congregational Church.

She leaves her niece, Nancy Maton of Watertown. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Connor, and also was predeceased by her nephew, Terrance M. Connor of Washington, Conn.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct.2, 2010 at 12 p.m. at the Woodward Mattoon Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., has been entrusted with arrangements.
