He was born May 15, 1932 at Stanton, Tenn. to the late William Adams and Emmy Lou Lewis Adams.
Brother Ben was added to the Lord's Church at the age of 14. His preaching ministry began at the age of 25. A faithful minister at the Blytheville Southside church of Christ for 25 years he previously had ministered at the Lepanto church of Christ and in various other congregations in the Arkansas area.
On June 6, 1951 he was united in marriage with June Middlebrooks.
Brother Adams leaves his wife, June; His six children: John, Freddie, George, Juanita, Herman, and Sherman.
Three sisters: Mary Currie, Arnell Canada, and Dorothy Merritt; One brother, George; Eight sisters-in law; Eight brothers-in-law; Nine grandchildren; and Ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Brother Adams were held at noon Friday, January 30, 1998, at Southside church of Christ in Blytheville with Minister James Cypress of Somerville, Tenn. officiating.
Brother Doug Gardner read the scripture.
Brother Sam Scott said a prayer.
Songs were rendered by Brother Edward Tate Brother Ronnie Bobo, and Brother Richard Johnson.
The eulogy was presented by Brother Cypress.
Burial was at New Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. with M.J. Edwards' Funeral Home of Memphis in charge.
Honorary pallbearers were Brother F. Adams, Brother G. Adams, Sr., Brother J. Hoy, Brother G. Adams, Brother J. Adams, and Brother S. Scott.
