Barbara A. Hynson (Pankowski) Adams

Age 68, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 14, 2009.

Born in Wilmington, Barbara was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Eleanor M. (Walenga) Pankowski. She started her real estate career with Fortunato then Harris & Hanby marketing homes in the growing Pike Creek area in the late 1960's. She then earned a degree at Widener University in Hotel Management, and worked at the Hotel DuPont. Barbara volunteered for the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, Delaware Hospice Festival of Trees, Christmas in Odessa, the Women's Prison Ministry and many others. She was a member of St. John the Beloved Church and had a cottage at Brandywine Summit Camp Grounds a Christian Renewal Fellowship. Barbara was a gypsy at heart loved shiny objects, eclectic gardens, abandoned farm houses, undiscovered country roads and the peacefulness of her tiny cottage on rainy day. She made the best BLT sandwiches with extra mayo. She enjoyed hammering away at steamed crabs with her family and friends at Bowers Beach. Her car routinely bore a "Honk if you Love Jesus" bumper sticker. Barbara always lived in the present, believed in God, Trusted in God and is now with God.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph A. Pankowski, Jr. and her former spouse Michael P. Hynson, Sr. Barbara is survived by her sons, Michael Hynson of Bear, Jeffrey Hynson of Wilmington and Michael Litton of Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren, Michael Patrick, III, Travis, Shannon, Christy, Christopher, Michael and Gabriela ; and 3 great grandchildren, Jordan, Juliano, Christopher and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are her sister, Margie Kyle of Wilmington and her brother, Bernie Pankowski of Centreville.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Friday, February 20 between 10 and 11:30 am at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Brandywine Summitt Campgrounds, 119 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317.
