SENECA FALLS - John Wesley Adams, LoriAnn Kirschner Adams and Abigail Adams, all passed away Tuesday morning, March 4, 2003, at Tudor Village, Seneca Falls, as a result of a fire at their home.

John Wesley Adams, 34, was born in Lenoir, N.C., the son of Elbert and Bertha Helton Adams, and had recently moved with his wife LoriAnn and daughter Abigail to Seneca Falls. John was an Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War, having served as a motor operator with the 101st Airborne in Fort Campbell, Ky. He had been employed by D&W Diesel in Auburn for the past few months. Prior to moving to Seneca Falls, he had been employed for more than 16 years at Lenoir Mirror in North Carolina.

In addition to his parents,Elbert and Bertha, John is survived by two sisters, Joyce Collins and her husband David of Lenoir, N.C. and Jennifer Adams of Hickory, N.C.; three brothers, James and his wife Tamara of Morganton, N.C., Jason and his wife Carrie of Lenoir, N.C. and Juston of Hudson, N.C.; his maternal grandparents, James and Margaret Helton of Lenoir, N.C., as well as four nieces and several cousins.

John was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Fannie Miles.

LoriAnn Kirschner Adams, 31, was born in Auburn, the daughter of Henry and Joan Beard Kirschner. She was an Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War, having met John while serving as a motor operator with the 101st Airborne in Fort Campbell, Ky. LoriAnn was an avid horsewoman and showed Arabians since she was 7. She had four horses of her own, which are still at the Cayuga home of her sister, Leah.

In addition to her parents, Henry and Joan Kirschner, LoriAnn is survived by a sister, Leah Rouse and her husband Dana of Cayuga; three brothers, Scott Kirschner and his wife Karen of Cape Maine, N.J., Heinrich Kirschner and his wife Molly of Port Byron and Michael Kirschner of Cayuga; her paternal grandmother, Wanda Kirschner; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Julia Beard; and her paternal grandfather, Herman Kirschner.

Abigail Adams was born in Lenoir, N.C. on Sept. 25, 2001, the daughter of John and LoriAnn. Abigail was a beautiful, loving, affectionate baby who would lovingly hug you and kiss you on the cheek. Her mom taught her how to say "whinnie" like a horse, and her father taught her to say "Hey." Abigail was loved and will be sadly missed by all of her family.

Funeral services for the Adams family will be held 10 a.m. Monday in the First Love Ministries Church on Van Anden Street, with the pastor, the Rev. Robert Canino officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 1 to 5 p.m. today, March 9, at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
