Glennville Resident Dies From Wreck

Mrs. Amy D. Bowen,16, was fatality injured early Wednesday when her car left Georgia Highway 144 in Glennville and struck a utility pole about three forths of a mile from Glennville High School, police said.
A spokesman for the Glennville Police Department said Mrs. Bowen was traveling west when her car left the road and struck the pole.
She was dead on arrival at Tattnall Memorial Hospital.
Police said the accident, which occurred about 12:30 a.m., was still under investigation Wednesday.
Mrs. Bowen was a native of Tattnall County and was a member of Glennville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Robert J. Bowen, Jr., of Glennville; a daughter, Miss Brooke Bowen of Glennville; two sisters, Mrs. Paula Kicklighter and Mrs. Christy Altman, both of Glennville, her mother, Mrs. Winnie Adamson of Glennville; her father, George Adamson of Glennville; her paternal grandmother, Mrs.Dewey Adamson of Glennville; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Eason of Ludowici; and 4 nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. at Glennville United Methodist Church, with burial in the Glennville City Cemetery.
Waters Funeral Home of Glennville was in charge.
