J. G. "G" Adcock, age 96, of Barfield Community, died March 17, 2013 at his home. Mr. Adcock was a native of Bedford County and was the son of the late Robert Thomas and Janie Maude Harrison Adcock. He was also preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Delbridge Adcock who died in 2004.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. John Hodge Jones will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Adcock is survived by three brothers Robert Allen Adcock of Shelbyville, Orean Milton Adcock of East Petersburg, PA, and Melvin Claxton Adcock of Berney, MO; and a sister Mary Lou Shearrin of Shelby, NC.

He was a member of the North Folk Baptist Church. Mr. Adcock was a farmer and retired from Singer Sewing Machine Company.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
