Mrs. Lee, prominently connected thoughout Middle Tennessee, was the former Tula Adcock, daughter of the late B. G. and Mary Lee Kendrick Adcock, and widow of David C. Lee, a native of Carthage, TN, whose death occurred in Washington in on the 19th of September, 1943.
Funerals services for Mrs. Lee were Monday in the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Thomas Cook, minister of the Collegeside Church of Christ, of which Mrs. Lee was a member, officiating. The body was taken to Washington D. C. where interment will be Wednesday in Arlington National Cemetery, beside her husband.
A native of DeKalb County, she spent her childhood in Sparta and later with her parents came to Cookeville to live. She received her education here, Lebanon and Nashville and prior to her marriage was ahome economics teacher. She had been a resident of Washington and Nashville and in the latter city held a position with the Veterans' Administration until her retirement, four years ago, when she returned to Cookeville where again she resumed her social, cultural and religious activities of former years.
Survivors are a daughter, mrs. Pearson Brown, two grandchildren, Marcia and David Brown, all of Washington; three sisters, Mrs. Lee Weir, Oklahoma City, OK, her twin, Mrs. Thurman Whitson, Mrs. Bob Lee Maddux, both of Cookeville; two nieces, Mrs. Lenis Dunlap, Chico, CA, Miss Jean Whitson; two nephews, Jere Whitson, David Maddux, all of Cookeville.
