Married Orie B. Ferguson and had three children: George Oliver Ferguson (1922-1942), Robert Wesley Ferguson (1925-2013), and Barbara June Ferguson Caughran (1932- ). The couple later divorced.

Contracted tuberculosis while working in a sanitarium and lived the last few years of her life in Denver, Colorado, for her health.
