Clyde Rufus Adcock, 76, of Ragley, Louisiana died at 2:20 PM Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in his residence. Mr. Adcock was born in Lake Charles and has lived in the Ragley area for the past 56 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Adcock worked for 22 years for the Louisiana State Police Troop D in Lake Charles. He also worked for Louisiana Correctional and Industrial School (LCIS) in DeQuincy. Mr. Adcock loved horses and was a member of the Silver Spurs Riding Club. He was a first place winner of the Multiple Scleroses Charity Tennessee walking horse and racking horse show in 1986. He also attended rodeos and parade events through out Southwest Louisiana. Mr. Adcock was the past president of the Louisiana Paint Horse Club. He was an avid hunter and was also a member of the local bowling league.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 52 years Helen Trahan Adcock of Ragley, one son Sidney Moore and wife Jackie of Ragley, LA, one sister Holly Brumit of Lake Charles, LA, step-grandson Alvin Bailey of Ragley, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Lilly will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday at 8:00 AM until the time of services.
