Maryland Brighton Adenauer, 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born in West Long Branch, New Jersey and was the daughter of the late Alvin and Lillian Rose Robbins Brighton. She attended public schools in Asbury Park and Ocean Township, New Jersey. She attended Farleigh Dickinson University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and graduated with a Humanities of Arts degree. Mrs. Adenauer is survived by her husband, Charles G. Adenauer; sons, Andy Adenauer , Carl Adenauer, Barry Adenauer and wife, Angela, all of Colonial Heights; daughters Holly Kenney, of Roanoke, Leslie Tyler and husband Joe of Colonial Heights, Carol Warro of Colonial Heights, and Cheryl Howerton and husband, Frankie of Colonial Heights; twenty-eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 in Wesley United Methodist Church, 3701 Conduit Rd Colonial Heights, Va 23834 with Roger Green officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Colonial Heights chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association – Greater Richmond Chapter, 4600 Cox Rd, Suite 130, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
