BALD KNOB - Austin D. Adkins, 61, of Bald Knob, Boone County, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, in Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison, after a long illness. He was a retired coal miner, a member of UMWA and an Army veteran.

Surviving: son, Scottie A. of Morganton, N.C.; daughter, Kimberly R. Webb of Bald Knob; brother, Minnis Adkins of Hickory, N.C.; sisters, Dana Wooten of Bald Knob, Hilda Logan and Glenna Cioffi of Virginia, Faye White of North Carolina, Marie Chute of Las Vegas, Wanda Jarrell; 27 grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Glenn Jarvis officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Low Gap, WV.
