Arthur Adkins Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Feb. 25, 2005.
Mr. Adkins was a lifelong electrician. He was born Oct. 25, 1937. He served his country in Korea in the U.S. Air Force, and was a valued member of the community. He was always there to extend a helping hand or shoulder to family and friends in need. He often found peace and solitude in nature. Jr. loved life, and could find joy in life' s little pleasures. He will be missed and forever loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Adkins Sr. and Garnet Adkins; his brother, Marlyn G. Adkins; and his sister, Barbara J. Wiley.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife, Melinda Adkins of Hansford; brother, John D. Adkins of Richmond, Ind.; son, Jay Allen Adkins of Barbecue Run; daughters, Elisa Green and husband, Samuel, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; Tina Hutchinson and husband, Burt, of Charlton Heights; grandchildren, Robert Cervera and wife, Erica, of Adena Village, Kelly Green of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Samuel Green II of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Ereka Botkins and husband, Jeremy, of Wilmington, N.C., and Whitney Bragg and husband, Jon-Erik, of Jacksonville, N.C.; and hunting companions, Duff Kirk, Ray Harless, and Craig Ervin.
Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Pryor Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Cooperstown Cemetery.
