Bernard "Frankie" Adkins Jr., 55, of Marmet, formerly of Ashford, died January 25, 2012, at CAMC General Hospital.
He was a former employee of Foodland in Kanawha City; was a former coal miner with Southern Appalachian, Dartmont; and was a member of the UMWA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard F. Adkins Sr.; and his half-brother, Bernard Tyler.

Surviving are his daughter, Sara (Rick) Ferrell of Charleston, and their children, Tyler and Dylan; companion, Lynn Pugh of Marmet and her children, Diane Eagle of Chesapeake, Roger and Roxanna Pugh of Marmet, and granddaughter, Morgan Igo of Marmet; mother, Ann Thompson of Alabama; sisters, Sherry Barker of Winifrede, Tiffany Weiss of Seth and Diana Rouse of Winifrede; brother, Lil Bo Adkins of Ashford; half-sister, Vickie Nelson of Alabama; half-brother, Ricky Nelson of Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with the Rev. Richard Harold officiating. Burial will follow in Barker Cemetery, Ashford.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
