Anne Riggs Adkins Abington was the daughter of Lawson and Ruth Grass Adkins of Griffithsville, West Virginia. She spent most of her childhood here and had a very close connection with the people in the area. In around 1957 Anne and her family moved to Clearwater, Florida. She graduated from Clearwater High School and later the University of Florida. She married Ed Abington, who worked as a diplomat for the United States government, and together they lived and travelled all over the world including Russia, the Middle East, and many other places. Later in life Anne travelled the world with her friends and her sister Mary. In 2011, Anne was tragically diagnosed with mesothilioma and later died from it in 2012. Anne was a very special and unique person, and her memory is treasured by all those who knew her.
