Joy K. Agnelli, 39, died May 14, 2002, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital from complications stemming from respiratory illness. Joy was a loving wife and mother of two wonderful children. She was a parishioner at Church of the Holy Family in Virginia Beach and was a graduate of Frank W. Cox High School and James Madison University.

Joy is survived by her husband of 12 years, Tony Agnelli; her two children, Mia, age 2, and Dominic, age 3; her mother, Judy Dunton of Virginia Beach; her grandmother, Kathleen Dunton of Machipongo, Va.; her sister, Gay Perez and her husband Len Perez, and their children, Allie, age 3, and Caleb, age 1, of Raleigh, N.C.; her sister, Beth Dunton of Virginia Beach; and her brother, Jim Dunton of Atlanta, Ga.

The family will receive friends at Church of the Holy Family located at 1279 N. Great Neck Road in Virginia Beach on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at noon Saturday at Church of the Holy Family by the Rev. Thomas J. Quinlan with burial to follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather back at the church for hospitality immediately following.

Flowers may be sent to the Great Neck Chapel of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home located at 1264 N. Great Neck Road. Memorial donations in Joy's memory may be sent to The Brain Tumor Center at Duke at DUMC 3624, Durham, NC 27710.

The Agnelli and Dunton families wish to thank Dr. Dean McGaughey and his staff, especially Cindy Cutter, and the doctors and nurses at Sentara Norfolk General ICU for their love, care and compassion in treating Joy. God bless you all.
