Mary Mable (Akers) Ratliff went home October 19, 2012 in Grain Valley, MO. Mudgie was born on March 10, 1945 in Rolling Bay, Washington to Bill Jack Akers and Lucy (Rush) Akers. Her daddy gave her the name Mudgie. She had a short 7 months fight with lung cancer.

She had married Ethan Ratliff twice, first time on June 4, 1960 till August 23, 1963 and a second time on December 21, 1986 until he went home on February 14, 2009, 22 years of love. She had also been married to Roger Moehlman for 21 years.

Mudgie loved everyone. She taught her children how to love and forgive others, how to walk with Jesus. She was a shoulder to a lot of people in this world. You could not walk across her path without feeling loved. She loved country music, Elvis, dancing, sitting around the kitchen table drinking coffee and the Casinos.

She worked at Easley's Plastic Co. in Independence. She drove a School Bus for Independence from 1972 to 1979. She drove autoparts delivery around the greater Kansas City area from 1979 to 1994.

She lived in Independence for 22 years, then moved to Gladstone for 20 years. She lived her last 3 years in Grainvalley with her daughter Rosemary.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ethan Ratliff, her parents, (brother) Bill Akers, (sisters) Lucille Obanion and Betty Carpenter, Pauline Durand and her son Terry Allen Moehlman.

She is survived by her brother Thomas Akers, daughters, Paula Taylor and her husband Mark, Carolyn Barnard and her partner Lonnie Williamson, Rosemary Tibbs and her husband Charlie, Brenda Moehlman, son, Wayne (Ratliff) Wrisinger and his wife LouAnna, 17 grand children 14 great grand children, ex-husband, Roger Moehlman, life long friend Sissy Blankenship and too many nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted ones taken in as family members to count.

A celebration of her life will be held as Walker-Nadler Fuller Funeral Home at 1720 South St, Lexington, MO 64067 on Sunday October 28, 2012. The visitation will be 11am -1pm with the service 1-2pm. Flowers and Donations to the family will be taken at the funeral home. The party will be following the cemetery service at Moose Lodge 2510 Main St, Lexington, MO. This will be a pot luck so bring your favorite dish.
