Silas was the son of Henry Albee and Betsey Nead

Silas married Lucy Lamere in Burlington, Vermont on September 14, 1891. The couple moved to Keene by 1900, where Charles continued to work as a blacksmith. Their children include Irene Mabel, born about 1906.
