A. Warren Albers, 88, of St. Joseph, passed away from this life to his heavenly home Friday, November 27, 2015, at a local healthcare facility.

Warren was born to Arthur and Goldie (Laveretz) Albers on January 8, 1927, at the family farm west of Bendena, Kan.

Warren served in United States Army during the Korean War and was in Military Intelligence.

He farmed for about 25 years in the Bendena area, then started working at the St. Joseph Stockyard and later became owner of National Livestock Commission Company.

Warren never had any hobbies as he enjoyed calling on his cattle customers in the four-state area.

Although he retired from the commission business in 2008, Warren still kept close contact with the livestock industry.

He was an active member of King Hill Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and Adult Sunday School Leader.

One of his great joys was being a member of Gideons International, where he was a member for over 35 years and held several state positions for the Gideons.

Warren married Jean Ann Riley, in September, 1950. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: three children, Annette Leader (Ray), St. Joseph, David Albers (Gayle), OFallon, Mo., Gayla Lenhardt (Matt), OFallon; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne Albers, Bendena, Marilyn Oltjen, Robinson, Kan. Janice Dahl, Tulsa, Okla.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at The Journey Baptist Church, 5708 King Hill Ave., St. Joseph, MO.
