ABRAHAM EDWIN ALBERT, one of Hagerstown's most widely known citizens and a member of the Board of Water Commissioners, died at his home, 418 Potomac Avenue on Sunday morning from kidney trouble. He was in his 76th year. While in failing health for some time, Mr. Albert had only been critically ill for a few days.

He was born in Hagerstown, the son of William and Mary C. (Mumma) Albert.

He always took a great interest in the affairs of the city. He was a director of the Mutual Insurance Company and was one of the organizers and for many years a director of the City Savings Bank. In politics he was a Republican, and served as County Commissioner some years ago. He always took a great interest in party affairs. He was a member of St. Paul's M.E. Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Beverly B. Coston; a sister, Miss Eleanora Albert, this city; a brother, James B. Albert, Seattle, Washington; and a granddaughter, Laura Coston, student at Troy, NY.

Funeral services were held at the house; interment in Rose Hill Cemetery; pallbearers were Edward Oswald, Albert Heard, Lloyd K. Hoffman, Scott M. Wolinger, Edwin C. Hock and Leonard D. Mathias.
