Edward T. and Clara P. (Peck) were married 20 March 1875 in Clayton County, Iowa. They adopted Herman Dansch who was born in 1870 in New York. No further record after the 1880 Census in Cass Twp., Clayton, Iowa has been researched.

In addition to Herman, Edward and Clara had 4 children to wit: Nellie P., Elizabeth M., Edward and Phyllis.

After the death of his wife, Clara P. (Peck) Alderson in 1894, Edward married Hattie C. Smith some time between 1895 and 1897, probably in Floyd County, Iowa. Following the birth of a daughter, Harriet in 1897 and a son, James in 1899, Edward and Hattie remained in Iowa until some time between 1900 and 1910 Edward and Hattie moved to Long Beach, California with their two children. All the children born to Edward and Clara remained in Iowa and did not remove to California as far as it is known.

The 1920 census shows both Edward and Hattie, their two children and Edward's father-in-law, James E. Smith residing in Long Beach, Los Angeles, California.

Edward dies November 19, 1924 in Los Angeles County, California as reported in the California Death Index and Hattie dies December 31, 1930 also in Los Angeles County, California as reported in the California Death Index.
