Agatha R. Aldridge, 65, of Dushore died June 15, 1988 at the Laporte Methodist Home. A Dushore resident all of her life, she was born April 26, 1923 in Cherry Township, a daughter of Floyd and Agatha Middendorf Hembury. She graduated from St. Basil’s High School, class of 1941.
For many years she was employed as a secretary at Penn Dot in Laporte, and retired in 1985. She was a member of St. Basil’s church, Dushore, and its Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are her husband, Ottie B. (Henry); three sons, Robert M. McDonald of Auburn, FL; Gerald J. McDonald of Germany; and Kevin L. McDonald of Auburn, FL; two daughters, Mrs. Maureen Flynn of Cleveland, TN, and Mrs. Sharon Rosbach of Hillsgrove; a brother, Joseph Hembury of Cherry Mills; sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Lantz of Sayre; a twin sister, Mrs. Geraldine Krakoski of Wescoesvile, PA; three stepbrothers, Arthur Smithkors of Philadelphia; Leland McEwen and Clair McEwen, both of Williamsport, a stepsister, Mrs. Jean Smithkors of Clarks Summit; two half-sisters, Mrs. Adelaide Finan and Mrs. Ethel Fulmer both of New Albany; eleven grandchildren, and Numerous nieces and nephews. A sister, Mrs. Mary McEwen and a stepbrother, Cecil Smithkors predeceased her. Funeral services were held June 18 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, Dushore, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Basil’s church. Rev. John R. Polinsky officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Sullivan County Unit of the American Cancer Society, Dushore.
