ANNA ALDRICH - Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Aldrich, 72, of Centerville, S.D., formerly of Tampico, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the Parent Funeral Parlors in Tampico. The Rev. L. B. Beals, pastor of the local Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Tampcio Memorial Cemetery. Friends who served as pallbearers were: Earle Smith, Arthur Aldrich, Bert Price, Alfred Olson, Ernest Clapper and Glen Glassburn. Among those attending from out-of-town were Victor Aldrich of Centerville, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lawrence and Mrs. Belle Miller of Rock Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ackeberg and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lawrence of Prophetstown. Anna S. Aldrich, daughter of Benjamin and Mary Ekdahl, was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Nov. 27, 1868, and passed away at her home in Centerville, S.D., on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1940, at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Aldrich came to America when she was three years of age and established her home here for the remainder of her life. On Sept. 23, 1893, she was united in marriage to Edgar G. Aldrich, the ceremony being performed in Tampico by the Rev. George A. Wells, pastor of the Methodist Church. To this union one son, Victor Gilbert, was born. Surviving are the son, Victor of Centerville, S.D., a sister, Mrs. Emman Christianson of La Plata, Mo., two half sisters, Mrs. James Arnold and Mrs. Louise Arnold of Tampico, and one half brother, Victor Ekdahl of Tampico. Her husband, one sister, Mrs. Matilda Anderson, one half sister, Mrs. Mina Teach, preceded her in death. Mrs. Aldrich was a member of the Methodist Church. She was well known by the older residents of this community where she had lived for many years. Her kind and helpful spirit was the outward sign of a life which found its greatest joy in helping other to find happiness. Contributed by Melva L.
