From the Illinoian-Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois, August 26, 1926: A. C. Aldrich, who had made Beardstown his home for thirty years, died at a hospital in Macomb at 3 o'clock Thursday morning after an illness that has extended over a period of a year. A. C. Aldrich was operated upon at ???? hospital August 23 for the removal of kidney stones. He did not rally following this operation. His death followed ????. For many years Mr. Aldrich was employed by the Burlington railroad as a yardmaster. In later years he was employed by the city police, three years as city street commissioner, a position he held at the time of his death. He was a highly respected citizen and was a member of several fraternal organizations. The body was taken today to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank ?????, 1107 East Fifth street, to await the burial services. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon August 29th, from the Masonic Temple at ? o'clock and will be officiated by the Rev. C. L. Stauffer, assisted by Rev. C. ? Boyd. The Masons will have charge of the services at the grave. Interment will be made in the family lot at the Oak Grove Cemetery. The deceased was born at Bath, ????? County, New York, on March 1st, 18??, being ?5 years, 5 months and 1? days of age. He moved to Wyanet, Illinois with his parents at the age of 6 years, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage in Wyanet on December 21st, 1879 to Miss Loreno White also of Wyanet. He, with his family moving from that city in 1885 about seven years after which they moved to Beardstown where he has since resided. Six daughters and one son are left to mourn his death. They are Mrs. Frank Stucke, Mrs. T. L. Dieu, Mrs. ?? Miller, Mrs. Clarence Mayhall, all of this city and Mrs. R. P. Ranson, West Allis, Wis., Mrs. C.C. Darniell of St. Louis, Mo., and N.L. Aldrich of Sterling, Ill. One son, Clarence, passed away at the age of 12 years. The grandchildren are Clarence and Mildred Stucke, Lucille and Eugene Ranson, Glen Miller, Harold Rigler and Lawrence, Elizabeth and Dorothy Aldrich. Mrs. Aldrich preceded the deceased in death two years ago, last March. Mr. Aldrich was a member of the Masonic Lodge of this city, and also a member of the O.R.C. and the K. of P. lodge.
