Charles William Aleshire, 66, of 928 Valleyburg Rd., Luray, died on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1940, in Luray and was a son of Frances Elizabeth Painter Aleshire of Luray and the late Ashby Franklin Aleshire.
Mr. Aleshire worked as a butcher at A&P in Luray for 42 years and was a member of the Luray Moose Lodge 1413 and the American Legion Post 166.
He was an Army veteran, having served during Vietnam.
On Dec. 18, 1972, he married the former Nancy F. Good, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are two sons, Chris Charles Aleshire and Jason Franklin Aleshire, both of Stanley; a stepson, Roger Lee Louderback of Harrisonburg; two grandsons, Mason Aleshire of Stanley and Jacob Louderback III of Harrisonburg; and two granddaughters, Cari Aleshire and Rachel Aleshire, both of Stanley.
A funeral service was conducted at 11 a. m. on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles J. Comer.
Burial was in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray with Military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Comer-Jones Post 621 of Luray.
