He was born on Feb. 12, 1923, in Stanley and was a son of the late John Aleshire and Mina Painter Aleshire.
His wife, Vivian Maxine Smelser Aleshire, preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, Clinton Aleshire of Luray; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory Carson and Mark Allen Aleshire; a daughter, Glenda Good; five sisters, Naomi Bailey, Annie Aleshire, Vera Aleshire, Fannie Burner and Doris Aleshire; and four brothers, Omer, Earl, Robert and Warren Aleshire.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Kevin Higgs, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Leake's Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.
