P. F. STROUPE DIES SUDDENLY

News of His Passing Causes Death of His Grandmother, Mrs. J. F. Alexander.

Preston F. Stroupe died suddenly last night at 8 o'clock at his home here, and his grandmother, Mrs. J. F. Alexander of this city, who was visiting in Clearwater, Fla., died shortly afterward of chock when she received a message of his death.

Mrs. Alexander, with her daughter, Mrs. Charles T. Stroupe, mother of Preston Stroupe, and Charles T. Stroupe, Jr., were visiting Mrs. Alexander's son, C. N. Alexander.

The body of Mrs. Alexander will arrive in the city some time Friday. Funeral services for Preston Stroupe will not be held until the arrival of the body of Mrs. Alexander. A joint service probably will be held.

THE SURVIVORS.
Mr. Stroupe was born on November 13, 1906. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Harriet Porterfield of Monroe before her marriage last November 13; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Stroupe of this city, an done brother, Charles T. Stroupe, Jr., of this city.

He was a member of the First Baptist church, the Young Men's Bible class of that church, and an active member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, being one of the five delegates from the local organization who attended the national convention last summer in Memphis, Tenn.

Mrs. Alexander, a member of the First Baptist church, is survived by three ons, C. N. Alexander of Clearwater, Fla., S. R. Alexander of Charlotte, and J. C. Alexander of Nashville, Tenn., one daughter, Mrs. Charles T. Stroupe of Charlotte, and five grandchildren.
