Mrs. Acosta was a member of McDonough First Baptist Church where she had been very active and faithful in serving until her declining health. She retired from the State of Georgia as a secretary with 28 plus years of service. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, serving in her church and community, cooking, traveling and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Survivors are her husband of 63 plus years, Vernon Acosta of McDonough; children, Beth and Bill Cofer of Pullman, WA and Robert and Karen Acosta of Acworth; grandchildren, Jimmy and David Cofer of WA, step grandchildren, Matt Goynes of Washington DC, Amber Goynes Hill of Cobb County and Chris Goynes of Ballground, GA; 3 step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Mrs. Acosta will be Friday, Jan 22, 2010, 11AM at First Baptist Church of McDonough with Dr. Charles Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the McDonough City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8PM.
