Dara Kathryn Adams, 78, daughter of William and Bess Spencer Alexander, was born March 6, 1923, at Export, Pa. She died March 7, 2001, at Houston House.
She attended school and college in Pennsylvania. She joined the Marine Corps in 1942 and became a sergeant during World War II, where she also got her degree in accounting.
She worked in the office at San Diego Ferry and 22 years at General Dynamics in San Diego, Calif., where she met her husband.
She married Charlie Adams in 1964. In 1972 they retired and moved to farm near Houston.
She was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion, Royal Neighbors, Missouri Cattlemen's Association, Tyrone Sunshine Club and Pine Creek Extension Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill and Ed Alexander; and her grand-parents.
Surviving are her husband of the home; two sisters, Rose MacAdoo of Florida and Morna Livinggood of Pennsylvania; and a special cousin, Gay Chapman of Houston.
Services were March 10 at the Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Hamilton and the Rev. Kendall Ford officiating. Burial was in the Ozark Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
