Ann Jane Robinson was born in Ontario, Canada, January 9th, 1851, where she grew to young womanhood. She was united in marriage to G. H. Greenaway in 1869 also of Canada. Their family consisted of four children, Sarah a, of San Diego, Cal.; Kaate, of St. Louis, Mo.; Wm. who passed away in 1898, and Harry, of Port Huron. Mr. Greenaway was called by death in 1876. Shortly after his death she came to Clare with her family and in 1882 she wed Byron Alger and their home was blessed by two children, Rssell A, of Detroit, and E. Belle Alger, of SanDiego, Cal.
Mrs. Alger was a permanent resident of this city for a half century with the exception of one winter spent in California with her daughter, E. Bell, following Mr. Alger's death in 1929.
The funeral services were held from the home Wednesday aftenoon, conducted by the pastor of her church faith, Rev. J. E. Lockyer, and burial made in Cherry Grove beside her husband.
