Allen, Charles Edward ( Chuck ), age 76, a lifelong resident of Dayton, departed this life December 22, 2011. A graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1953 and received journeyman Certification in Toolmaking from Miami Valley JVS. Charles was employed at the Dayton Daily News, the National Cash Register Co. and retired from Apex Division of Cooper Industries with 25 years of service. He and his family were affiliated with Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church from its inception. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. & Anna Allen siblings, Albert Jr., Marjorie, Ruth, Joseph, Eugene, Paul, Naomi & Glenna. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and devoted wife, Loretta Jean Lomax Allen son, Phillip Redd sister, Phyllis (Elmer) Bolds sister-in-law, Blanche Allen many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Woodland Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Avenue. Rev. Lavon Mann officiating. Visitation 11 am Thursday at the mausoleum, at which time family will receive friends. Arrangements entrusted to the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave.
