MRS ALTA ALLEN DIES AT AGE OF 83

Mrs. Alta May Allen, 83, of 121 ½ Otter St., died Sunday at 3:50 a.m. at Mercy Hospital. She had been hospitalized for the past month.

Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Parratt, she was born May 1, 1872, in Oakfield, and was married to Frederick A. Allen on Sept. 15, 1890, in Oakfield. He preceded her in death in 1909. They came to Oshkosh from Fond du Lac in 1900.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, member and former president of Parish Gild, and former member of Arion orchestra in Oshkosh. She was a member of ERA, having acted as treasurer from 1909-1945. Mrs. Allen also was a member of Women's Benefit Association and Loyal Workers.

Surviving is one son, Dale Allen; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mallery & Seefeld Funeral Home, with the Rev. William J. Spicer, pastor of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until the hour of services.
